Russia has set the historical record on oil
Oil output in Russia in September 2009 increased by 1,7 percent compared with September last year to 40.95 million tons. This figure is a historical record for post-Soviet Russia.
Oil output in Russia in September 2009 increased by 1,7 percent compared with September last year to 40.95 million tons, said the Central Dispatching Department of Fuel and Energy Complex of Russia (CDU TEK).
Given that the U.S. oil barrel 0.1364 tons, then the September oil production in Russia amounted to 300,3 million barrels, or 10.01 million barrels per day. According to Bloomberg, this figure is a historical record for post-Soviet Russia.
Russia's oil exports in September this year totaled 20.41 million tons, or 149.61 million barrels. Thus, Russia exported 4.99 million barrels of oil per day, accounting for 49.85 percent of the total daily production of raw materials in the country. Compared with September last year this figure increased by 6.1 per cent, or 1.18 million tonnes (8.66 million barrels).
Despite the increase in oil production, oil production in Russia declined. In particular, in September this year, gasoline production fell by percentage compared to the same period in 2008 and amounted to 2,93 million tons. Production of diesel fuel fell by 1.2 percent, and jet fuel - at 15.9 percent. Volumes of production of petroleum products in September amounted to 5,52 and 0,72 million tons.
September 8, 2009 Bloomberg News reported citing data from the International Energy Agency, that in the second quarter of this year, Russia had the world's leading exporter of crude oil and petroleum products for the first time since the Soviet collapse. Russia, exported 7.4 million barrels per day, ahead of Saudi Arabia (7 million barrels per day). Compared with the first quarter of Russia increased its exports to 0.15 million barrels per day, while sales of Saudi Arabia, by contrast, declined by 0.39 million barrels.
