Law enforcement agencies of Ukraine will be sent to Cyprus as peacekeepers. The decree, according to the "Correspondent",signed by Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko.In accordance with the decree, to Cyprus from Ukraine will go up to ten people.They will work within the Armed Forces of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus.UN peacekeeping contingent was placed on the border between the Greek and Turkish parts of the island in mid-1970's.Ukrainians participated in peacekeeping missions in several countries. As reported by the "Ukrainian Pravda", the total number of Ukrainian peacekeepers of about 500 people. The largest contingent (about 300) located in Liberia. There helicopters, piloted by Ukrainian pilots, provide air support of various delegations, for the transport of cargo and border security.A total of 17 years of participation in peacekeeping missions, Ukraine has lost 47 soldiers.
