Journalists criticized the Pentagon for the photograph of the dying Marines

Pentagon chief Robert Gates has strongly condemned the decision of the Associated Press to publish the photograph of a mortally wounded Marine, reports The Washigton Post. The fact that not to publish the photograph, the agency asked Gates how he and the relatives of the deceased Marines, but the AP decided that the public should see this picture.

On the controversial photographs depicted the last moments of life, 21-year-old Lance Corporal U.S. Marine Corps, Joshua Bernard, served in Afghanistan. AP photographer managed to take pictures of Bernard, after his unit fired rocket-propelled grenades militants of the Taliban, the photograph shows that jolly was seriously wounded leg, and colleagues are trying to help him. Later, Bernard, died in a field hospital.
