The British General Medical Council (GMC) intends to issue new guidance for doctors, which requires professionals to learn all the patients and their relatives on the attitude toward organ donation after death. Such a measure designed to combat shortages bodies in the National Health System, says Telegraph.

Recommendations GMC affect physicians of all specialties. Prior to that, discussion of donation was granted at the discretion of physician. Systematically such questions were asked only intensivists and specialists in disaster medicine.

According to a senior adviser for strategy GMC Sharon Burton (Sharon Burton), a conversation with the patient about the donation may be the most difficult for the doctor, but there is no doubt that the greater will be the kind of talk, the more organs for transplantation and the more lives can be save.
